Journey to the Altai Mountains
The NGFL received the blessing of the Mongolian Ministry of Culture and the Mongolian Youth Federation
August 23, 2021In August, the banner of the NGFL was weaved at the foot of the holy Altai Mountains in West Mongolia!
Mathieu and Mendbayar were travelling by car (4400 km altogether) to the sacred Altai Tavan Bogd to witness its full glory. After singing traditional throat-singing songs together at the President Ovoo(a heap of stones decorated with prayer flags), they blessed the flag of the NGFL to symbolically initiate the everlasting Luxembourg-Mongolian friendship.
After the trip, Mendbayar and his wife Baigalaa suggested that we organize trips to Mongolia for Luxembourgian people next summer. We want to bring people to the Altai Mountains, the Khuvsgul Lake, the Gobi desert and many more places on an adventurous trip together with locals. Besides, we want to organize a trip for horse lovers, as there are many people dreaming of riding a horse through the vast Mongolian steppes, we want to provide this experience to you.
