In order to bring the authentic flair of the nomadic lifestyle to Western Europe, we are happy to announce that we are setting up the very first yurt camp ever in Luxembourg! Currently, our partners in Ulaanbaatar are meticulously crafting traditional 10 Mongolian Gers ( Ger is the Mongolian name for a yurt or a home in general). The Gers are made from “Har Mod”, which is a wood from South Siberia, and Mongolian felt. Every yurt has its unique design, colour scheme (which fits the colours of our organization) and comes with original Mongolian furniture. Even special stoves that will make the Gers comfortable during the cold winter months are included.
The Gers are expected to be completed by the end of the year and brought over in a 20 tonnes container on a truck all the way over the Eurasian continent to us in Luxembourg! The camp is scheduled to be set up at the Camping Bellevue 2000 in the East of Luxembourg during the first weeks of 2022. It will consist of 6 fully equipped Gers (5.2 meters in diameter), which are slightly adapted in height (1.8m instead of 1.65m height at the entrance) to fit European body sizes and a special composition of felt is used to withstand the humid European climate. Curious guests which want to experience the unique, cosy and intimate atmosphere which the Gers provide, will be able to rent them via the Camping Bellevue 2022 starting next year! To top all of this, we will also have one huge festive yurt (9.2 meters in diameter) for special occasions like concerts, workshops, meetings, conferences and others. This yurt will become the official headquarters of our organization! Stay tuned for more information or feel free to contact us about this project anytime!
